Glenys Atkins, Executive Officer

Glenys has been a proud and leading force behind the Border Trust since the very beginning.  She has enjoyed seeing it grow and contribute so much to our community. With initial seed funding provided by Philanthropy Australia, FRRR and support from Albury City Council, the Border Trust was established, a community foundation for the Albury Wodonga Region,  dedicated to the well being of our local region.

Once it was up and running, Glenys went on to other work in the local community sector, returning in 2011 to the position of Executive Officer.  She is continually inspired by the work of our grant recipients and the commitment of our Donors, Board members and Supporters.

Life outside of Border Trust for Glenys is fairly simple with a happy home, partner and dogs, three adult children and extended family in Melbourne and Perth, friends, volunteering and, in normal times, travel.

A Community Foundation is an independent philanthropic organisation working in a specific geographic area which, over time, builds up a collection of endowed funds from many donors in the community. It provides services to the community and its donors, makes grants and undertakes community leadership and partnership activities to address a wide variety of needs in its service area.”
