The Challenge

Across our region, many local organisations are working hard to respond to growing community needs — often with limited resources. Whether it’s supporting vulnerable groups, creating opportunities for connection, or addressing gaps in access, these organisations rely on timely, flexible funding to bring their ideas to life.

The Solution

Through the ACE Radio 2AY & Edge FM Community Grants program, supported by philanthropic partner Handbury Foundation, a $5,000 grant helped bring this local project to life.

As shared in the video below, the funding enabled the organisation to deliver practical, community-led support — designed by locals, for locals — responding directly to what was needed on the ground.

The Impact

This project demonstrates what’s possible when local knowledge meets local generosity.

With the support of this grant, the organisation was able to strengthen its reach and deliver meaningful outcomes for participants — creating greater connection, support and opportunity within the community.

Beyond the immediate outcomes, the impact extends further — building confidence, strengthening relationships, and contributing to a more inclusive and connected region.

Why Local Giving Matters

This is the power of local giving.

When funding is raised and distributed locally, it reaches the people and organisations who understand their community best. It enables timely responses, supports grassroots solutions, and creates impact that stays right here in our region.

Through partnerships like ACE Radio and Handbury Foundation, and the generosity of local supporters, projects like this can continue to make a real difference — today, tomorrow and into the future.
