Meeting our Towong Recipients

Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting the Towong area to see firsthand the incredible work being done by some of our Towong Community Bushfire Disaster Relief Fund Grant recipients.

Our first stop was the Tallangatta Football Netball Club, where the project to enhance emergency preparedness across five areas has now been completed. It was inspiring to see how this initiative has strengthened the club’s resilience and ensured the community is safer and better equipped for the future.

Next, we visited Playles Hill, where the community space is almost complete. The labyrinth, seating, BBQ area, and gathering spots are a space for locals to connect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.

We finished our roadtrip at the Towong Memorial Hall, with the recent ‘Fit Out’ Project, the hall has been transformed with resilience in mind into a multipurpose space that will serve the community in countless ways, from events and workshops to social gatherings.

Meeting our recipients and experiencing their communities in person was a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do. The energy, commitment, and collaboration we witnessed were truly inspiring.

Stay tuned—more detailed stories on these recipients and their amazing projects are on the way!
