Hume Bank
Safer Communities Fund

In July 2024, Hume Bank announced the launch of its dedicated Safer Communities Fund with an initial contribution of $50,000 in support of creating a safer community and helping to end domestic and family violence.  In 2025, Hume Bank contributed an additional $30,000 to the Fund.

The fund will contribute financial support directly to frontline family and domestic violence services across the region.

Border Trust will receive and manage donations to the Fund and deliver the Safer Communities Fund Grant Round, ensuring funds are allocated to programs and initiatives that meet the established grant criteria across Albury, Wodonga, Federation, Greater Hume, Indigo, Towong, Wagga Wagga and Wangaratta Local Government Areas.

The Hume Bank and Border Trust collaboration involves extensive community consultation to identify the most pressing needs and ensure the effective distribution of resources.

“At Hume Bank we believe in making progress for all in our community, and to do this we will take a stand on big issues that our community cares about.

One of these is family and domestic violence.  We understand that we all need to work together to promote and foster safe, equal and respectful relationships and that we all must continue to do more”.

Stephen Capello, Hume Bank CEO.
