Bobby Garratt died on Sunday 13th August 2006, aged 17 years and 12 days, following a 9 month battle against osteosarcoma.

In memory of Bobby, who was an inspiration to all who knew him, his mother Julie has established the Bobby Garratt Memorial ADFA Fund. The Fund will be awarded each year to a student from Bobby’s school, Catholic College Wodonga, who, during Year 11, applies for and is accepted into the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). Bobby had planned to go to ADFA himself to study to become a pilot and it was his wish that the scholarship be for prospective ADFA students.
