Board of Border Trust

VACANCIES BORDER TRUST BOARD

An exciting opportunity exists for community minded people who would like to bring their time and talent to Border Trust. As several of our founding Directors near the end of their constitutional terms we are seeking expressions of interest from residents across our region to join the Board.

We need people who are thoughtful and measured in their decision making, who understand the culture of philanthropy and who may possess the relevant skills, experience and qualities to assist in the ongoing development of Border Trust and the vital service it delivers to Border communities.

The role of volunteer director requires team participation to make decisions and determine policies to govern, guide and support the Foundation.  This includes helping to build the endowment; ensuring that Border Trust –the Community Foundation for the Albury Wodonga region- is an effective grant maker, as well as ensuring that it contributes to the communities of the region by strategic grant making and partnerships with community organisations operating within the area.

Please refer to the ‘Background Information’ document for full details regarding the position description, selection criteria, governance considerations and code of conduct before proceeding to lodge an ‘Expression of Interest’ and the ‘Skills Matrix’.

In November 2009 it was with a degree of sadness that Border Trust farewelled some key foundation board members who steered Border Trust through its early years of development.  The Board looks forward to them staying involved as Border Trust members and supporters as their labours come to fruition.

We are committed to continual renewal of our team to ensure that we stay motivated and truly represent the broader Border community.  A big welcome to our new board members in 2010, Edwina Farley, Rob Stocker and Joan Simms.

To departing directors, Prue Smith, Denise Osborne, David Bartram, Bert Eastoe, Campion Decent and Chris Horton -sincere thanks for your commitment over the past very eventful five years! Your time and talents are very much appreciated.
